Hatching Live Chicks!
Each year, we experience hatching first hand as we observe the growth and development of live chicks! The eggs take 21 days to hatch. Once hatched, we keep the baby chicks for 2 full weeks! Click here to watch a time lapse video of our eggs hatching!
Each March, the Growing Tree North honors award winning author, Dr. Seuss by celebrating his birthday with a school wide author study! Our teachers introduce this well known author to the children by sharing his hysterical stories and tying Dr. Seuss related themes into their lessons and artwork!

Pet Week
Each year, the Growing Tree North hosts a special pet week! During this week, families are invited to bring their pets to school for a special visit and the North Hempstead Animal Shelter comes to teach our children about the importance of caring for pets.
In May, the children learn all about the butterfly life cycle! At the Growing Tree we grow our own live butterflies from tiny catepillars and observe the process as they transformed into beautiful butterflies!

Pre-Kindergarten Mother's Day Sing-A-Long
At the Growing Tree, we love helping others! Each year, the Pre-Kindergarten Classes walk over to the Sunharbor Manor Nursing Home to put on a special charity show for their residents! Click here to hear us sing!
In honor of Earth Day, the children get a special visit from National Waste! They come with a real Garbage Truck and teach the children about sanitation and the importance of recycling!Thanks National Waste for teaching us to Love our Earth!!

Each year the Toddler classes are proud to invite their fathers and grandpas in for a special father's day event! The children work hard practicing special songs dedicated to their dads and enjoy delicious donuts and drinks together!Click here to watch them sing!
One of the most exciting holiday traditions at the Growing Tree North is the annual Pre-K Thanksgiving Feast! The children learn about important concepts such as, what means to be thankful and the story of Thanksgiving. The Pre- K children work hard to prepare a wonderful event complete with a variety of foods for families and children to enjoy, homemade decorations, child made costumes, and a Thanksgiving themed sing-a-long show for families and children enjoy together.
